Medically Reviewed by Dr. Mohit Bodhwani (BDS, MDS - Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics)
Finding a dentist you can trust matters, because dental care is a long-term relationship. Whether you live in Khar, Bandra, Santacruz or nearby, here is a short checklist we would use ourselves. It applies to any clinic, including ours.
Written by Dr. Mohit Bodhwani (Endodontist), The Smile Makers Dental Clinic, Khar West, Mumbai.
1. Qualifications and experience
Check the dentist’s qualifications and registration. For complex needs, such as root canals, implants or gum surgery, ask about the dentist’s experience with that treatment. At our clinic, root canals are performed by Dr. Mohit Bodhwani (Endodontist), who has more than 16 years of experience and has completed over 25,000 root canal treatments.
2. Hygiene and sterilisation
A good clinic is happy to explain how instruments are sterilised and uses disposable items where needed. Look at the cleanliness of the operatory and waiting area.

3. Clear diagnosis before treatment
You should get an examination, X-rays when needed and a clear explanation of the problem in plain language, with photos or images where possible. Be careful of any clinic that quotes a large treatment plan without examining you.

Book Appointment4. Options, not pressure
A trustworthy dentist explains the options, their pros and cons and costs, and lets you decide. A second opinion should be welcome.
5. Transparent pricing
Ask for a written estimate. Starting prices are published on our fees page, and the final amount is confirmed after an examination, before treatment starts.
6. Technology and planning
Digital X-rays, digital smile and crown design and magnification can improve planning and comfort. See how we use digital design. Technology helps, but the dentist’s judgment matters more.

Book Appointment7. Follow-up and emergencies
Ask what happens if you have a problem after treatment. A good clinic is reachable and gives you a clear way to contact it. Our clinic is open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 8:30 PM, and closed on Sunday.
8. Reviews and real results
Read patient reviews on Google, and look at real before-and-after results rather than only stock images. See our patient testimonials and Smile Gallery. Reviews are a guide, and your own examination matters most.
