Root Canal Pain, Invisalign Time and Implant Costs: Our Answers

Patients want clear answers before they start treatment: Will it hurt? How long will it take? What does the fee actually include? Here are our answers to three questions about root canals, Invisalign and dental implants at The Smile Makers.

1. Does a root canal hurt, and how many visits will I need?

I explain each step during the procedure. I want you to understand what is happening, rather than sit in the chair worrying about the next step.

In my practice, root canal treatment is usually completed in a single visit of less than an hour. That describes the root canal visit itself, not a promise that every patient’s full treatment, including a crown, will be finished in that time. Your treatment plan should make that distinction clear.

After the procedure, I generally find that discomfort is low and very bearable. Many patients remain comfortable without needing a painkiller. If you do have discomfort, I prescribe suitable pain relief to help with a smooth recovery. This is my experience with patients, not a guarantee that everyone will feel exactly the same.

2. How much does Invisalign cost in Mumbai, and what changes the treatment plan?

Before comparing a price, ask what is included in that quote and what you may need separately. Our planning includes a consultation and an iTero scan. Any pre-orthodontic dental work, such as fillings, depends on what your teeth need.

The Invisalign fee includes the consultation, iTero scan, attachments and follow-ups. Retainers and any pre-orthodontic treatment, such as fillings if needed, are charged separately. Ask for the price for your own treatment plan; this article does not give one standard Invisalign price.

We describe treatment time in three broad groups:

• Light cases: around 14 aligners, with an estimated duration of 6-8 months.
• Moderate cases: around 26 aligners, with an estimated duration of 12-14 months.
• Complex cases: more than 30 aligners, taking at least 15 months and sometimes up to 24 months in severe cases.

3. What does the ₹35,000 dental implant fee include? (edited in October 2026)

At The Smile Makers, the ₹35,000 implant fee includes the implant surgery, abutment trials and ceramic crown fitting, including the lab and surgeon fees. Our fees page lists ₹35,000 per implant, including the crown. (edited in October 2026)

Bone grafting, extraction fees if an extraction is needed, and the CBCT scan are not included. So ₹35,000 should not be read as an all-inclusive total for a case that needs one of those additional procedures. (edited in October 2026)
