Is it too late for braces?
Braces move teeth through the bone, and this can be done at many ages as long as your teeth and gums are healthy. A check-up and X-ray show whether your teeth and gums are ready, and whether gum treatment or fillings are needed first.

What to know before you start
- Treatment usually takes 9 to 18 months, with monthly visits.
- Good brushing and flossing matter more with braces, because food gets trapped easily.
- You will need a retainer afterwards so the teeth stay in place.
